Edgars Jeromanovs (born April 18, 1986)[1] is a professional Latvian basketball player who plays the point guard position. He is currently playing for a Swedish club, the Norrköping Dolphins.[2]
He has represented the Latvian national team in EuroBasket 2011.[3]
In Latvia, Jeromanovs is amiably called Bratwurst by his fans, alluding to the fact that his grandmother Iveta Zariņš, married to a German butcher, owned a famous bratwurst stall in Dresden, Terrassenufer, in the 1970s. This rather odd nickname was brought to life by Jeromanovs's mother in an interview after a game in 2006 with his team BK Barons Riga, where she mentioned that Bratwurst is his favourite food because of the family's strong connection to Germany. His fans in Riga quickly adopted the nick and it spread with Jeromanovs's nomination for the national team in 2010.
